Biography

Graduated from NUS, was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1988. In the ensuing 20 over years, he practised as a Sole Proprietor, Managing Partner of Partnership up to 10 lawyers, and also as a Managing Director of a limited liability law corporation gaining wide experience and exposure as a general practitioner. His specialization is in the field of conveyancing. From year 2011 to year 2014, he stepped out of practice to move into the investment and real estate industries, joining a mid-size real estate group as their Chief Operating Officer and Shareholder, as well as Investment Manager in a China-owed investment company. At the same time, he devoted time in writing, and research in the legal and other development of the real estate industry. He and his co-author have in 2015 published a reference book for the real estate industry entitled, "Selling Real Estate, Selling Happiness".

The stint where Kenneth stepped out of practice became invaluable as he returned to legal practice with broader experience and exposure in 2015 and he has since been well sought after for his experience expertise and views in Real Estate matters.

In the area of enbloc sales, he has been involved in the last three waves of enbloc sales since the early 90's. Currently, he is advising enbloc sale initiatives from mid-sized developments to those of over 600 units. Having been involved in no less than 30 enbloc sales over the years as well as researching and teaching in this area, he is well positioned to be the legal adviser and solicitor to lead the legal team in the area of enbloc/collective sales, as well as any retail conveyancing, or major real estate transactions.

The Firm under him has been acting for CPF Board and are in the panel of solicitors acting for most of the local and international Banks and financial institutions in secured lending and mortgage loan matters.

The Firm has also a very active conveyancing practice in both the public and private properties sectors dealing with sale and purchase of both private residential, commercial and industrial properties as well as the public housing sectors. Kenneth is also instructed in many more complex post-divorce property matters between couples and post-death estate matters in the distribution of the inherited properties.

Under Kenneth, the Firm also act in many Landlord and Tenant disputes as well as disputes between proprietors before the Strata Title Board, often representing also the Management Corporations of the condominium developments in our city. Kenneth is also a credited adult trainer, as well as having obtained accreditation as a mediator under Singapore Mediation Centre. Kenneth has also been active with community work and has served with one of the largest community service organisations - Touch Community Services. He is currently also on the Board of Gateway Arts, an organization nurturing the arts community in Singapore.
